Welcome to the TeamTudor website, and thank you for visiting. My name is Doug Tudor, and I am a Democratic Candidate for the U.S. House in Florida’s 12th District in 2010.

I am a 20-year Navy veteran, having retired on February29, 2008 as a Master Chief Petty Officer, the senior enlisted grade of E-9. In my last six years of active duty, I served as the administrative aide for three Commanders, U.S. Central Command – General Tommy Franks, General John Abizaid, and Admiral William Fallon. I have traveled to the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq on over 30 occasions.

Immediately after my active duty service, I filed to run in the 2008 Congressional elections. Due to the thousands of folks who were willing to contribute their time, talent, and treasure, we were able to garner over 137,000 votes, which was 42.5% of the general vote – the second highest percentage for any of Florida’s Democratic nominees that didn’t win their race. This was while running against the House’s third-ranking Republican and being outspent nearly 18 to 1.

We have an amazing opportunity to build upon the many successes we achieved together in the 2008 elections. For the first time in a decade, the seat will be open. This means that FL-12 will be a nationally watched and heavily contested race. I look forward to ensuring that working men and women are fully represented in this campaign and in the House. We simply cannot allow big-moneyed interests or personal wealth to buy this seat. We are going to have to fight for it every day until the election.

Plain and simple, I am running for Congress to give regular folks a voice; a voice that has been sacrificed by career Republican politicians in this district for too long. I am running for Congress to ensure that the best interests of America and FL-12 always come before party politics and personal ambitions.

The one and only way I can return Washington's power to you, its rightful owner, is with your help. Together we can retake this seat and send a working man to represent working families. With your help, we can have a government that works for us - one in which we can trust and one in which we can be proud.
